After initially acquiring large acreage of farmland in Ogun State, Samstar have built up an expert agronomy team consisting of both expatriates and local talent to ensure high yields of cassava tubers are harvested daily.
Samstar’s outgrower and ingrower models provide exceptional support to farmers across Ogun State and beyond to ensure consistent supplies of raw materials all year.
This allows us to support local farmers, even if they are not associated with our outgrowers or ingrowers schemes, by offering them fair market prices for their harvest.
Our farms are located close to our factory in Ogun State, making it easy to access fresh cassava roots daily. Through advanced mechanisation and the use of irrigation, Samstar will increase the potential for high yields. Over the next few years, Samstar will increase the size of our farms to over 2,000 hectares.

The primary objective of the outgrower and ingrower models is to ensure consistent supplies of raw materials all year, enabling optimal production at the factory. Samstar’s outgrower and ingrower models provide exceptional support to farmers across Ogun State and beyond.
By providing basic inputs such as fertilisers, stems, tractor services, and other necessary resources, the outgrower model empowers farmers to cultivate their own land with healthy assistance from Samstar. Similarly, the ingrower farmers have access to the same benefits but in addition, will also utilise Samstar’s land for their farming.
At Samstar, we prioritise continuous training and knowledge enrichment for our farmers. We ensure they are updated on latest advancements and innovations in the dynamic agricultural space through live demonstrations. Our training modules cover wide range of topics from Good Agronomic Practices (GAP) to post-harvest management. We also train them on basic business management skills.
Although at Samstar, we look to source most of our cassava through our own farms and outgrower/ingrower models, however, we will purchase raw materials from the open market through smallholder farmers around our factory vicinity.
